About My Work

I have been painting and running my own business, Nature Inspired Designs, since 2004. I paint in both watercolor and acrylics. Inspired by the natural environment, my paintings reflect my love of nature in a playful representational style. Flowers spring towards the skies and trees tilt in a colorful rhythm. I hope my brush stroke and vibrant color palette are uplifting inspirations for you, the viewer.

"Color and form describe my interpretation of my subject matter first and foremost and I intend to be as inventive as possible. I do like to master my materials in a way that satisfies my reasons to paint. I want to give the viewer somthing worth looking at as I believe that the painter creates a special dialogue with the silent viewer that is somewhat sacred and unique to the medium."

Originally from upstate New York, I earned my BFA from Pratt Institute and, following graduation, was a freelance photographer and studio assistant for several New York City photographers before moving to Vermont. My freelance work has been shown in The Daily News, Newsday and The National Trust for Historic Preservation publications. After moving to Vermont, I took up painting again and have continued my career as a painter here in the Green Mountains.

During the summer, I sell my artwork at the Waitsfield and Stowe Farmers’ Markets. I also offer instruction in watercolor and acylic painting in the location of your choice. I am available for workshops, demonstrations and public or group events. I exhibit and sell my work at select juried arts and crafts shows throughout New England.

At the Winooski Holiday Pop-up Art Market, I will be selling framed watercolors, acrylic paintings of birds, flowers, and landscapes as well as prints, greating cards, and hand-painted lampshades.
